Ed and Edie Bontrager of Harrisonburg, Virginia began coordinating and hosting tours abroad since 1970, in conjunction with their pastoral ministry in several states. To date either one or both have hosted about 50 overseas tours, and several motor coach tours on the U.S. east coast.
Since this is a family business, they are able to offer tours at very reasonable rates, yet the tours are high quality, with lodging in first class hotels. The in-country guides are English-speaking professionals who are very knowledgeable and articulate regarding the culture, customs and history of the places visited.
Countries visited have been Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt in the Middle East. Other locations have been to Trinidad, Indonesia, Russia, Albania, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, India, Ireland, Scandinavian countries, Greece, Italy, Switzerland and other European countries. Also South American countries - Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil and Peru.
On some trips we personally contract with tour agents overseas, and make our own arrangements for overseas flights; on other trips we work through a tour company, Nawas International Travel, who takes care of all the flights, transportation and local guides.
